🍾 Mississauga’s New Plant Brings Big Job Boost
A major $533M investment is coming to Courtneypark Drive, where Lee Li Holdings is building a new state-of-the-art bottling and packing facility that will bring 275 fresh jobs to our city. Premier Doug Ford and Mayor Carolyn Parrish called the announcement a big win for Mississauga, especially as the agri-food sector continues to grow and evolve across Ontario.
The expanded facility will support everything from tea and coffee to sparkling and flavoured water, keeping more beverage production local and creating new opportunities for families here at home. It is a significant vote of confidence in Mississauga’s workforce and a welcome boost for our local economy.
🎄 Festival of Trees Returns
The Mississauga Festival of Trees is back this month until December 14th, bringing its mix of art, music, and local shopping to the historic Small Arms Inspection Building. The event features newly created tree art installations, a busy holiday market, and pay-what-you-can admission that supports local artists.
Visitors can browse more than 80 vendors, join hands-on workshops, and enjoy live seasonal music throughout the space. It is a straightforward, festive way to connect with the community and enjoy some holiday creativity close to home.
🎬 Some Movies Shot in Mississauga
Two very different screen projects are putting Mississauga in the spotlight. Netflix’s mystery thriller Wayward, released in September, features several southern Ontario filming locations, including key scenes shot at Aristotle’s Steak & Seafood House in Meadowvale. The series also made stops in Milton, Dundas, Millbrook and beyond, giving viewers a mix of familiar backdrops as its story of hidden secrets unfolds.
Closer to home, Mississauga filmmaker Alexander DeSouza is gaining attention for Holo, a 12-minute sci-fi short filmed largely at Masterkey Culture. Starring Morgan Kohan, Shane West and Zelda Williams, the project is now being pitched as an eight-episode miniseries. DeSouza hopes to keep production local, adding to the growing list of films and shows choosing Mississauga as a creative base.

🎁 Simple Ways to Give Back in Mississauga This Season
The holidays can be busy, but the City is quietly encouraging residents to consider a few small ways to support neighbours who may be finding this time of year a little tougher. Their suggestions focus on easy, practical actions that make a real difference close to home.
Food Banks Mississauga’s Holiday Drive runs until January 9, and donations help provide healthy meals for local families. You can also clear snow for older neighbours, foster a pet needing short-term care or join a park cleanup to keep our green spaces looking their best. Even small gestures of kindness during everyday routines go a long way toward creating a more supportive Mississauga.
💙 Mississauga Unveils New Inclusion Strategy
The City has introduced Empowering Change, a five-year plan that outlines how equity, diversity and inclusion will be woven into everyday operations. Built through input from residents, community groups and staff, the strategy focuses on reducing barriers, improving communication and using consistent data to guide progress across all departments.
It sets clear expectations for City employment, policies, services and purchasing. Leaders say the goal is a more connected community where everyone feels represented and able to thrive.
