🎄 December Highlights Across saugaLIVE Venues
December is packed with lively concerts, festive films and classic performances across Mississauga’s favourite venues. From indie icons to holiday orchestras, there’s something for every mood, and it all makes for easy outings with friends or a thoughtful seasonal gift thanks to select shows offering 25 per cent off until November 30.
Highlights include STARS bringing heartfelt energy, a TIFF-curated film night, a joyful Christmas concert, a charming Canadian Nutcracker, the witty Broadsway quartet and plenty of Raptors 905 action. It’s a warm, inviting lineup that celebrates the season and keeps the city buzzing with music, stories and shared moments.
🏅 Olive Grove High School Earns Top-Tier Recognition
Mississauga is celebrating Olive Grove High School’s strong showing after it placed seventh in Ontario in the latest Fraser Institute report, a ranking that highlights the school’s consistent academic performance and the hard work of its students and staff. The recognition gives local families plenty to be proud of and adds a bright spot to the city’s educational landscape as the community cheers on this impressive achievement.
❄️ Mississauga’s New Windrow Program
Mississauga’s new windrow program promises to clear the heavy, hard-packed snow left at the end of every residential driveway after city plows pass. Using new equipment, crews create a ten-foot opening so cars can safely get in and out, a service now offered to all 134,000 homes across the city.
It’s designed to relieve one of winter’s biggest frustrations, but it only works if residents keep driveways clear of cars, bins and obstacles so plows can reach the area.

🌿 New Lakeview Conservation Area Opening
Mississauga residents are excited as the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area prepares to open next May. The 26-hectare waterfront space will feature accessible trails, boardwalks, lookouts and wetlands, offering a rare stretch of nature right on the shoreline.
After nearly a decade of work, wildlife is already settling in, and families can look forward to walking, cycling and exploring once the east entrance opens in late spring. This project brings a beautiful new outdoor retreat to the heart of Lakeview.
🍽️ New Eats Open at Square One
Japadog has officially arrived in Mississauga, bringing its popular Japanese-inspired hot dogs to Food Central at Square One. With creative pairings like yakisoba, teriyaki tartar and avocado shrimp, plus veggie options and classic sides, it’s a fun new stop for anyone craving something different during a mall visit.
Nearby in The Food District, Bao Mama has opened a permanent location after years of well-loved pop-ups. Their handmade Filipino and Asian-inspired baos, packed with bold fillings and house-made sauces, are already drawing interest from local food lovers. Together, the two openings add fresh variety to the city’s growing dining scene.
