🔌 New Energy Facility Brings Local Growth
A brand new twenty-million-dollar manufacturing facility has opened on Danville Road, bringing fresh energy and momentum to Mississauga. The partnership between Albesol and Schneider Electric replaces the older Everest Drive site, giving the team more space to grow and modernize their work.
The facility focuses on equipment that helps keep electricity flowing safely across our communities, and it plans to expand from twenty-eight to fifty employees. It is a welcome boost for local jobs and for Ontario’s growing energy needs.
🏡 Peel Budget Brings Notable Tax Changes
Peel Region has shared its proposed 2026 budget, and homeowners across Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon may see a property tax increase of just over four per cent. A large part of the rise comes from plans to boost police staffing, along with added investments in housing supports, paramedics and community services that are feeling the strain of our growing population.
There is also a focus on helping vulnerable residents, with new funding for shelters, seniors’ housing and programs like TransHelp and mobile dental care. Water bills are expected to climb as well, though the region says it is using reserves to soften the impact during a time when many families are watching their budgets closely.

🌕 Mississauga Gets Ready for the Cold Moon Glow

Mississauga skywatchers have a lovely sight coming as December’s Cold Moon rises as our final supermoon of the year. This winter full moon is known for its soft brightness and warm colours near the horizon, and many cultures have long connected it to the start of deeper winter. You will spot it at its best on the evenings of December fourth and fifth.
Supermoons look a touch larger and brighter, which makes this one a perfect moment to step outside, take in the night sky and enjoy a peaceful break from the rush of the season. And if the clouds get in the way, there are more beautiful moons on the way in early 2026.
